My Yogurt Lovin' Kitty

Tigger with yogurt

My cat, Tigger (aka Tiggy Boy), loves to clean out my yogurt container when I'm done eating my yogurt. As soon as I peel off the cover he's ready to have some yogurt goodness. When he hears me scrape the sides of the container, he knows it's his turn to have a yogurt treat.

He licks the inside of the container.

He dips his paw into the container and then licks the yogurt off of his paw.

He will spend quite some time trying to get the remaining yogurt within the container.

I never get sick of seeing him clean out a yogurt container.

My Shampoo Bottle is Morphing into a Cat!

Tigger with one eye open

I have a habit of collecting things that are unwanted in hopes of making them into something wanted. Some people may call these "unwanted items" trash, junk, or garbage; but I call them objects of potential and possiblities. Empty shampoo bottles and other misc plastic bottles have been one of my current "possibility" projects. And yes, you can see even my cat Tiggy opened one eye to catch the exciting transformation of a shampoo bottle turning into a cat. :-)

When I come to the point of throwing away an empty container or some type of object destined to be tossed away; I think, "What can I make this into? How can I use this item for any of my projects?" Sometimes a "garbage" item makes a useful aid/tool for working on my projects and others play a vital role in the object itself. This is an important role for my cat sculpture. Without the empty bottle, where would my cat sculpture be? It wouldn't be, is the point.

The first photo shows the back of my cat sculpture where you can see the "uncovered" part of the sculpture. The next photo shows a cat trio made with bottles of various sizes. Currently, I'm working on five different cat bottle sculptures and I'm trying to vary the "styles" of my kitty cats.

This photo shows one of the styles, where I used polymer clay for the eyes and I will use some PaperClay to sculpt a nose for the sculpture. This kitty cat is the largest of the five and the first one that I started working on. I used some aluminum foil and a styrofoam ball to sculpt the legs and the head. And then I used some Paper Mache medium to cover the entire body.

Tigger sleeping

And look at this my kitty cat, Tigger, was so exhausted after all the Shampoo Kitty sculpting that he needed to take yet another "cat nap." Ahhhh...the life of a cat. I hope you enjoyed finding out about my cat shampoo bottle project. One thing I need to think of, is a good and unique name for my bottle creations. Any suggestions? Nonetheless, I hope you go and see what items may look unwanted but hold a world of potential within. Talk to you later. :-)

Some pics of my cat along with a little of this & a little of that!

Meet, Tigger, the computer cat!

Tigger at the computer

I'm one of those cat people, so I thought it was about time to share some pics of my kitty cat, Tigger (aka-"Tiggy"). I have tons of photos of Tiggy, so this is just a small sampling from the Tigger archives. Anyway, my cat is a sweetie and rascal all wrapped into one. He certainly has some serious sassy streaks in him, but also some adorable and sweet qualities. Any cat lover's out there?

Tigger follows me all around the house and sleeps with me each night purring right next to my face. He is a snuggly cat, but for some reason he will randomly bite me in the midst of his purring snuggling moments. And he's like a little kid, so I constantly need to remember if there's anything left out within his reach that he will think is a toy to bat around. Any pet stories to share?

Here's the Tiggy-lounger!

Tomorrow my sister and her kids are coming to visit for a few days. It will be nice to see them again. My sister is working on building her website to sell her jewelry on and she wants me to help her during the week. I'm no techie expert, but I will try my best to help her with it. I've been reading about SEO optimization, to help my own site make it up higher in the rankings, so I will have some new SEO info to share with my sister. My two nieces, Katrina and Kristin, are planning on going to the big American Girl sale while they're visiting this week. They saved up their allowance money just for the American Girl sale. Also, being Pixar fans, we are planning on seeing the movie "Up" this week. Yay!

One more thing, my last Etsy customer, James of Birdy's Knits, told me that his wife, Birdy loved the bee items purchased from my store. She enjoyed them so much that she posted a blog entry about her newly acquired bee items. Stop by her blog to see what she said.
